Energy Efficiency & Healthy Homes Awards 2017
We are over the moon to have won the overall Solar PV Installer of the Year at the Energy Efficiency Awards 2017!
“Solar Plants’ research into the systems that they install show their passion for their industry. The great community involvement and customer response reflects their commitment and support to, and within, the industry and highlights their positive impact on the local community, their customers and on the victims of poor quality installations” said the judges at the ceremony.
We are also delighted to have been recognised for a Special Commendation for Small Scale Project of the Year for Swansea University’s Active Classroom, as well as Sales Director, Leanne Farr, placing third for Business Development Manager/ Director of the Year!
UK Business Awards 2016
We were all absolutely over the moon to be awarded SME Business of the Year and Best UK Business of the Year, overcoming competition from global brands including o2, Virgin Money and Aldi to claim the top prize at the UK Business Awards 2016.
In 2016, despite government cuts to solar incentives, we have achieved a record turnover of £7.1 million, and projecting an increase on that figure in 2016-17. In the last 12 months alone we have installed solar energy systems for over 1,000 households and a number of companies throughout Britain, including Sony UK.
Energy Efficiency & Healthy Homes Awards 2016
We were delighted to be highly commended in the PV installer of the Year category where judges considered the nature, scale and scope of our work and the impact this work had in the local community. The installation of the first ever Tesla Powerwall, and involvement in the UK’s first active classroom were two of the contributing achievements to winning this award, along with some of our local and international charity work.
We recently won this award for Small Project of the Year for our work with Sony UK. The Energy Efficiency Awards recognises this particular prize as, “one exceptional project, in each of the 11 Regional areas around the UK, where energy efficiency measures of less than £250,000 have been installed.”
We installed a installed a multiphase 250kWp commercial installation at Sony UK’s Technology Centre in South Wales. Besides installing a number of new systems in various phases of the project, Solar Plants also upgraded a previously installed PV system to leverage increased energy and to have full visibility through module level reporting.
Business Development Manager of the Year 2016
Leanne, from Neath, wasn’t aware that we had entered her for the Business Development Director of the Year! She was absolutely delighted to win her award and to shake hands with Joanna Lumley! Speaking about her award Leanne said:
“Returning from holiday to find out I had been shortlisted for an award that my team had put me forward for was amazing in itself, but being at the ceremony and finding out that I had won against a list of industry talent was the cherry on the icing of the cake!
“However, I couldn’t have achieved anything without my family and my team so to them I am eternally grateful for their support, enthusiasm and patience.”
PV Installer of the Year
A last minute decision to enter the Energy Efficiency Wales Awards 2016 saw us coming away with a first place for Solar PV Installer of the Year. The Energy Efficiency Awards recognises best practice in the Energy Efficiency sector as it works to improve UK housing and tackle fuel poverty.
Commenting on the award, Operations Director Daniel Crossland said: “Certainly we have had a colourful journey since we started in 2011, complete with Government induced set-backs. But we have worked hard and have always kept our family business ethics, resulting in great customer feedback and recommendations and hence the two awards.”
