More Than Just Energy

Join one million UK homeowners and ‘Go Solar’

There are a multitude of reasons why over 1 million homeowners in the UK have chosen to generate their own electricity, by harnessing the power of the sun; from the free, daytime electricity, reducing bills, the 20 year, tax-free Government incentive or to just doing their bit for the environment.

One thing is for sure though, with the prices of solar technology reducing, and energy prices rising, now has never been a better time to future-proof your home.

Here are some of the benefits of installing a quality Solar PV system from Solar Plants

Save up to 75% off your energy bill

A solar PV system will generate plenty of free energy for you to use. The more solar energy you can use in the day to power your home, the less you will need to draw from the national grid saving you hundreds of pounds a year.

Solar will give you free day time energy

By using your free generated electricity you are protecting yourself against energy price hikes and the current energy crisis.

You’ll receive a tax-free income through the Feed-In Tariff

Currently the Government Feed-in Tariff scheme will pay you for generating your own electricity, whether you use it or not! At current rates a 4kWp solar PV array achieves a return of approx. 6%*, better than what the banks are offering for sure!

It will increase the value of your property

Buying a property with reduced bills and a regular income is a highly attractive proposition for any buyer. Solar PV increases the energy efficiency rating and therefore the value of a property.

It’s a first step to becoming more self-sufficient

Installing a solar PV system is the first step to being self-sufficient, and with other bolt on energy saving products like solar batteries and immersion switches, along with other renewable technologies there are a number of ways to ensure that you take control of your energy spend.

It’s great for the environment

Once installed, your solar PV system will not produce any carbon emissions, unlike burning fossil fuels for your energy! It’s great to do your bit for the environment.

In winter, the panels save around 30% and in spring and summer it’s nearer 60%. In the three and half years since we have had the panels, we’ve had an income from the feed-in tariff of around £2,600 and we have made savings in excess of £1,000.

How solar PV works

Essentially, it’s a simple process…

During the day, solar panels on your roof turn sunlight into DC electricity

An inverter changes the DC electricity to AC for use in your home

You use this energy to power your appliances immediately instead of drawing energy from the national grid

Any excess energy you generate will either be sent back to the grid or can be stored for when the sun isn’t shining!

Bills going up, incentives going down

You cannot avoid the outrage in the news about energy suppliers ramping up the cost of domestic fuel!  EDF, EON, British Gas, Scottish Power, Npower and SSE have all announced electricity price hikes, starting at 8.4% to a whopping 15%.

In addition, the Government are reviewing the Feed-In Tariff scheme to understand whether it still makes sense to incentivise home owners to generate clean energy, and therefore it’s difficult to understand whether it will be around for much longer.

By installing a solar PV system now you are effectively freezing the price of energy for the lifetime of your system, protecting yourself against future rises and guaranteeing a tax-free Government incentive for 20 years.

Plus with the prices of solar technology at an all-time low AND with 0% finance available, now has never been a better time to invest.

Every quarter I’m getting between £100 to £150 back in addition to visibly seeing a reduction in my energy usage… overall very impressed with the decision I made and I would more than happily recommend it

About us

Solar Plants are award winning, national installers of solar and storage technology.  A family business, we have been in operation since 2011 and have installed over 6,000 domestic and commercial systems.  We are the only installer in the UK that have both panel and inverter test rigs, and we only recommend the best performing, future proofed technology with robust warranties to protect for the long term.

The Solar Plants Process

Relax, advising on solar technology is something we have been doing for years…here is what to expect:

Desktop Survey

We don’t want to waste your valuable time if solar isn’t suitable for your property! Once you have confirmed an interest, we will conduct a desktop survey to check the size, orientation and pitch of your roof, looking out for obvious issues that could affect the performance of a system.  We will also discuss with you your energy usage and bills.  When we are satisfied that a solar PV installation would be of benefit, we will schedule an appointment for one of our national Energy Advisers to visit.

Free Financial Report

Our energy adviser will conduct a thorough survey of your home and will take time to explain how the technology works, where it will be installed and what your ‘solar payback’ will be (tariff payments, savings and payback time).  You may also be made aware of other products that could increase the performance of your system, or make your energy usage smarter once solar is installed.  All of this information is packaged into a report that will be left with you to ponder over in your own time.

When You’re Ready

We won’t keep badgering you for a decision, and if you have further questions our energy advisers, customer services team or on-line chat team are just a click or a call away.  But when you are ready, just complete and return the paperwork and you will soon be placed into the capable hands of our customer service and installation teams.

The system works wonderfully and over the years has produced better than the estimates that you gave. The guys who installed the solar panels were very efficient and completed the installation within a few hours, well done all, an excellent service and product. A big thank you.
